Allwyn International Relocates Corporate Headquarters to Switzerland
Allwyn International AG, Europe’s largest lottery operator, has officially moved its corporate headquarters from the Czech Republic to Switzerland.
Transfer of Senior Secured Notes
Along with the move, Allwyn transferred €500 million ($553 million) worth of senior secured notes due in 2027 to Allwyn Entertainment Financing (UK) Plc.
This UK-based entity was established to support the company’s successful bid for the UK National Lottery license.
Despite this financial restructuring, the company emphasized that no layoffs or major internal shifts are planned.
Largest Lottery Operator in Europe
Allwyn continues to hold its title as Europe’s largest lottery operator, having secured the UK National Lottery license in a highly contested process that saw Camelot, the previous operator, lose its long-held position.
While the transfer of the license was contentious, the situation was eventually resolved through mutual negotiations.
However, Allwyn has recently faced scrutiny from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) regarding alleged indirect ties to Russia.
Despite these concerns, the UKGC clarified that these ties had no impact on the licensing process, and Allwyn was awarded the National Lottery contract fairly.
Strong Financial Performance
In its latest financial results, Allwyn reported strong growth, with second-quarter revenue reaching €2.15 billion ($2.38 billion), reflecting a 5% year-over-year increase.
The company’s robust performance across key markets highlights its continuing dominance in the lottery sector.
Acquisition of Instant Win Gaming
In addition to its corporate relocation and financial success, Allwyn recently acquired a 70% stake in Instant Win Gaming, a move that further solidifies its presence in the instant gaming market.
Although the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, this acquisition signals the company’s ongoing strategy to expand its portfolio and strengthen its market position.
