Aussie Wins $13M Oz Lotto Jackpot. Prize Remains Unclaimed
An Oz Lotto ticket sold in New South Wales has won AUD 20 million ($13 million) in Tuesday night’s draw, but the winner has yet to come forward. The ticket was not registered digitally, making it harder for The Lott to contact the player and confirm the payout.

Unregistered Ticket Complicates Winner Search
The Lott confirmed that one player matched all winning numbers – 21, 17, 43, 25, 12, 18, and 14 – with supplementary numbers 15, 42 and 24 also drawn. Because the ticket was purchased in-store and not linked to a verified account, officials do not know who the winner is.
The Lott frequently encourages players to register through its app to avoid situations where physical tickets become lost, forgotten or damaged. Spokesperson Khat McIntyre said:
“It’s possible this mystery winner is waking up and heading to work with no idea they’ve scored AUD 20 million. Imagine how your plans for the rest of the day and the rest of your life might change with a prize of this magnitude.”
Six-year Window to Claim the Winnings
There is no immediate urgency – the winner has six years to claim their jackpot. If the prize remains unclaimed after that period, it would typically be transferred to state revenue or another statutory body to manage.
Rules differ between regions, as in Victoria where lottery prizes never expire. To assist, The Lott revealed that the winning ticket was purchased at Broadway Newsagency inside Broadway Shopping Centre.

Unclaimed Prizes are Rare, but not Unheard of
While large jackpots almost always find their rightful owners, millions in lottery winnings go unclaimed each year. At the end of 2024, unclaimed Australian lottery prizes totaled approximately AUD 21.42 million (around $13.68 million), though most were smaller wins.
The Lott continues urging players in New South Wales to check any recent tickets carefully – especially those bought at Broadway Shopping Centre.
