Bet365 Expands Footprint to Arizona After Fubo’s Departure
In a significant development, Bet365 is making its presence felt in Arizona’s sports betting landscape following Fubo’s decision to exit the market earlier this year.
The Arizona Department of Gaming is set to grant Bet365 the license that was once held by Fubo, marking the international gaming giant’s entry into the Grand Canyon State and further expanding its footprint in the United States.
Fubo’s Exit Clears the Way
After Fubo Sportsbook, the former partner of the Ak-Chin Indian Community, ceased its operations in Arizona, speculation circulated about the fate of its license. Ultimately, Fubo’s parent company’s decision to shutter the brand prompted the closure. The Ak-Chin Indian Community was left without a partner, creating an opportunity for Bet365 to step in. Previous reports accurately hinted at the potential handover of the Fubo license to either Bet365 or Fanatics.
Bet365 is now tasked with launching its operations in Arizona within 180 days from the date of license approval (August 29). This swift timeline underscores the operator’s eagerness to establish its presence in the state.
Bet365’s Expanding US Presence
Bet365 has already established its footprint in five US states: Colorado, Iowa, New Jersey, Ohio, and Virginia. Furthermore, the operator is gearing up for its launch in Kentucky through a partnership with Sandy’s Racing & Gaming, a collaboration between the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and Revolutionary Racing Kentucky.
Earlier this year, Bet365 made the strategic decision to withdraw its pursuit of an online license in Massachusetts. While the operator initially partnered with Raynham Park with hopes of seizing opportunities in the state, it ultimately chose to abandon those plans. This move exemplifies Bet365’s agile approach in navigating the dynamic US gaming market.
Bet365’s entry into Arizona following Fubo’s departure underscores the operator’s commitment to expanding its influence in the United States. As the international gaming giant continues to strategically position itself in various states, its latest move into Arizona signifies a significant step toward realizing its growth ambitions within the US gaming landscape.
