About STS
Company History
STS was founded in 1997 as Star–Typ Sport Zakłady Wzajemne sp. z o.o. The Juroszek family took over the company in 2000 and has retained ownership since. In 2008, international operator Stanleybet acquired a majority stake, but in 2012 the Juroszek family repurchased all shares and initiated online betting operations with BetSys as the software provider.
From 2013 to 2018, STS launched key innovations including STS TV for live event streaming, an eSports betting vertical, and a proprietary mobile app. The company also introduced its own payment solution, STSpay, and surpassed EUR 500 million in revenue by 2018. In 2019, STS expanded internationally with licenses in the UK and later in Estonia, opening offices in Malta and Warsaw. It restructured into STS S.A. and formed a holding company, STS Holding S.A., which went public on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2021.
In 2023, global gaming group Entain acquired STS Holding for approximately £750 million through its joint venture Entain CEE. The Juroszek family backed the transaction and retained a minority economic stake. CEO Mateusz Juroszek remained in his role and joined the board of Entain CEE.

Regulatory Compliance
STS operates under stringent regulatory frameworks designed to ensure full compliance with national and international gambling laws. The company strictly adheres to the Polish Gambling Law, including the Act of March 1, 2018, which focuses on the prevention of money laundering and the financing of terrorism. In line with this, STS has established robust internal procedures, such as verifying customer identities, monitoring transactions, and reporting any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
To strengthen its approach to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF), STS has implemented an internal Procedure for the Prevention of Money Laundering. This policy, approved by the Management Board, ensures continuous surveillance of financial operations, particularly transactions exceeding EUR 15,000 or patterns of frequent lower-value bets. These are reported to the General Inspector of Financial Information (GIIF), the competent regulatory body in Poland.
The company also employs a comprehensive risk management framework. This system evaluates various risks, including liquidity, operational integrity, and regulatory compliance. It is supported by internal reporting mechanisms and is overseen by the Supervisory Board, which ensures proper corporate governance and accountability.
Additionally, STS has introduced an anti-corruption policy that applies to all employees, customers, and business partners. The policy includes regular compliance assessments and mechanisms for investigating potential incidents of misconduct.
Central Europe
STS has evolved from a local Polish bookmaker into a dominant player in Central European iGaming. It offers a wide range of betting and gaming products across digital and retail channels and maintains one of the most recognizable sports sponsorship portfolios in Poland. Since mid-2023, it operates under Entain’s CEE umbrella, continuing its mission of innovation, local leadership, and regulatory excellence.
