Casino.nl and Digital Wellness Center Launch myStridePositivePlay Pilot to Promote Responsible Gambling

Casino.nl, in partnership with the Digital Wellness Center, has unveiled the myStridePositivePlay pilot project, an initiative aimed at advancing responsible gambling practices. The project leverages cutting-edge tools to encourage safer gambling behaviors.

A New Approach to Responsible Gambling

The myStridePositivePlay tool introduces a unique way to help players manage their gambling habits. By incorporating mini-games designed as microbreaks, the tool seeks to disrupt extended gambling sessions, which can lead to excessive dopamine release and impaired decision-making. These short mental exercises activate the brain’s prefrontal cortex, enhancing emotional regulation and rational thinking.

The standout elements of myStridePositivePlay include a memory game named ‘Pairs,’ which challenges players to match words or phrases to boost cognitive engagement, and a guessing game called ‘Droodles,’ where participants interpret abstract drawings to help refocus and recalibrate their minds.

Furthermore, the tool allows users to monitor their mood, accumulate points, and compare their scores, making the experience of responsible gambling more engaging and enjoyable.

Affiliates Embracing a Supportive Role

The pilot project explores how affiliates like Casino.nl can transcend their traditional educational responsibilities and take an active role in promoting safer gambling habits.

Dr. Mary Donohue, Founder of the Digital Wellness Center, stated:

“These microbreaks work like a seatbelt for the brain, providing players with moments to reset and recalibrate their emotions. Together with Casino.nl, we’re exploring how affiliates can make responsible gaming not just an obligation, but an empowering and meaningful experience.”

Floris Assies, Editor-in-Chief at Casino.nl, emphasized the evolving role of affiliates:

“Our role as affiliates is evolving. We aim not only to inform but also to inspire action that fosters safer gambling. Through this pilot, we’re exploring how we can play an active part in driving responsible gaming practices, complementing our mission to be the most responsible casino affiliate in the Netherlands.”

Data-Driven Insights on Gambling Behavior

The pilot will collect anonymous user data to evaluate the tool’s impact on gambling habits. Dr. Donohue will analyze these findings to assess whether the tool successfully promotes healthier gaming behavior.

The results of this research will be presented at the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts and Letters Conference in February 2025.
