Dutch Gaming Authority Enforces Penalties on Alimaniere Sociedad de Responsabilidad for Unauthorized Gambling
KSA Imposes Incremental Fines for Offering Illegal Games of Chance
The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has issued an order for incremental penalty payments against Alimaniere Sociedad de Responsabilidad. The order was imposed due to the company’s facilitation of unauthorized gambling activities for Dutch players through the website time2spin1.com.
According to the KSA, Alimaniere Sociedad de Responsabilidad provided online gambling services without holding the necessary Dutch license. In an official statement, the KSA explained, “Through the website time2spin1, Dutch players were able to gamble without Alimaniere having the required license. That is forbidden. With the order for incremental penalty payments, the KSA requires the illegal provider to immediately cease its offer and to keep it discontinued. If the provider does not comply with this, a penalty of €140,000 will be imposed, up to a maximum of €420,000.”
Repeated Attempts to Circumvent Regulations
The KSA initially discovered the illegal gambling platform through the original website, time2spin.com. Upon investigation, the site was subsequently blocked, rendering it inaccessible to users in the Netherlands through an IP block.
However, a follow-up investigation found that Alimaniere Sociedad de Responsabilidad had established a new website, time2spin1.com, continuing to provide access to Dutch players. As a result, the KSA extended its order to include this new site, now subjecting it to the penalty structure.
Strict Licensing Requirements in the Netherlands
The KSA reiterated that providing online games of chance in the Netherlands requires a valid license. This licensing system ensures a secure and legal environment for Dutch players, with protections in place to guarantee fair play and mitigate gambling-related harms.
The KSA stated, “Offering online games of chance to players in the Netherlands is only allowed with a license from the KSA. In addition, there are strict rules and regulations that aim to ensure a safe, legal offer, where players are assured of fair play and are protected from gambling addiction.”
