Elena Chambers Joins Allwyn to Lead Global Transformation Efforts
Allwyn has announced the appointment of Elena Chambers as its new Group Chief Transformation and Corporate Development Officer. Chambers will spearhead large-scale transformation initiatives across Allwyn’s international portfolio, which includes key lottery operations in Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, and the UK.
Chambers’ Role and Vision
Elena Chambers brings extensive experience in corporate strategy and organisational transformation to her new role at Allwyn. Her responsibilities will include leading group-wide strategic planning, overseeing transformational projects, and driving organisational change to optimise Allwyn’s growing global operations.
Prior to joining Allwyn, Chambers held senior positions at Virgin Media O2, where she led the revamp of channel strategies to improve commercial performance, and at 888 Holdings, where she played a key role in the integration of William Hill’s retail assets as Chief Operations Officer.
Commenting on her new position, Elena Chambers said: “Allwyn is a truly exciting and dynamic company with a mission to transform the impact of lotteries and casual gaming. The business has a strong commitment to enhancing its social impact and delivering strategic growth underpinned by core foundational values. I look forward to working with the team in this exciting new chapter for the business to help deliver even better lotteries and games, and I’m delighted to have been appointed.”
Leadership Perspectives
Allwyn Group CEO Robert Chvátal praised Chambers’ expertise and leadership capabilities: “We are delighted to welcome Elena as Group Chief Transformation and Corporate Development Officer as we continue to develop the growing Allwyn brand and business. Elena is a dynamic and proven business leader, with an exceptional track record of delivering business-wide change. Her capabilities in growing and optimising global businesses will be indispensable as we seek to make lotteries even more entertaining and enhance the positive impact they can have on society.”
Challenges Ahead
While Allwyn continues to expand its international presence, the company faces challenges in the UK, where it took over the National Lottery operations in February 2023. The company has encountered delays in implementing promised technological upgrades, with reports suggesting that initial deadlines have been missed.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the upgrades, described as a complex integration process, may not be fully operational until the summer of 2025 or later.
Despite these challenges, Allwyn remains committed to delivering on its promises for the UK National Lottery, with its board actively evaluating timelines for the rollout of the new system.
