Evolution Georgia Workers Begin Hunger Strike
As of August 13, workers at Evolution Georgia have escalated their ongoing protest by initiating a hunger strike. This drastic measure comes after more than a month of demonstrations and repeated attempts to engage with the company’s leadership, all of which have gone unanswered.
Hunger Strike as a Last Resort
The protest is escalating despite the intervention of the Georgia Ombudsman, who has called on Evolution Georgia to start negotiations. Unfortunately, according to the strikers, the company has entered into a questionable dialogue with the striking workers.
The decision to begin a hunger strike was not made lightly, according to the strikers. They emphasize that this extreme form of protest was their last resort after all other efforts to address their grievances were ignored.
“We are deeply concerned about this situation. The decision to start a hunger strike was not made lightly, but it has become the only option left to draw attention to our cause”, they stated.
Call for Dialogue
The strikers remain open to negotiations and express their willingness to engage in discussions with company leaders. However, they stress that the lack of response has left them with no choice but to take such a serious step in order to draw attention to their cause.
“For more than a month, we have been trying and waiting for steps to be taken”, they pointed out.
