FanDuel TV launches problem gambling recovery show with Craig Carton
FanDuel TV has introduced The Comeback With Craig Carton, a program focused on problem gambling awareness and recovery. Hosted by Craig Carton, the show features personal stories from individuals who have struggled with gambling addiction. The first episode, now available on YouTube and FanDuel TV Extra, includes an interview with former NBA player Randy Livingston.
Highlighting gambling recovery stories
The program provides a platform for individuals to discuss their experiences with gambling addiction. By sharing these stories, the show aims to encourage open discussions and reduce stigma.
Craig Carton, who has spoken openly about his past struggles, explained his motivation behind the show:
“As someone who has personally navigated the challenges of gambling addiction, I understand the impact it can have on your life and the lives of those you care about. The road to recovery isn’t easy, but I’ve committed myself to helping others who are facing similar struggles. My mission for this show is to inspire hope, offer support and remind everyone that the path to regaining control starts with understanding.”
Randy Livingston shares his personal journey
The first episode features an interview with Randy Livingston, a former NBA player. He reflects on his addiction, explains what led him to seek help, and describes his recovery process.
Moreover, his wife, Anita Ondine Smith, provides valuable insight into the warning signs she noticed and how gambling affected their relationship.
Collaboration with FanDuel’s responsible gaming initiative
In addition to sharing their personal experiences, Livingston and Smith have recently joined Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting, a FanDuel initiative.
This program is designed to educate parents, guardians, and coaches about gambling risks. Furthermore, it aims to help them start conversations with young people about responsible gaming.
Cory Fox, FanDuel’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Sustainability, emphasized the importance of awareness and open dialogue:
