Entain

Gambling giant Entain has unveiled its 2022 trading update. It shows that Entain recorded a 12% year-on-year increase in NGR.

Increase in net gaming revenue

Although the gambling giant has not disclosed full financial details at this stage, the Entain company reports in its 2022 trading update that it reported NGR growth of 12% year-on-year. Mainly due to increased retail activity after the pandemic restrictions were lifted.

Retail operations of Entain cover regions such as the UK, Italy, Belgium, Ireland and Croatia. The lifting of restrictions and safety measures has allowed the pre-pandemic results to be exceeded.

In the context of its online operations, the gambling giant reported a 1% decline in NGR. According to the company, the result was affected by regulatory changes in the UK and Germany, for example.

Further progress

Jette Nygaard-Andersen, CEO of Entain, comments on the trade update in these words: – 2022 was another year of significant financial, operational and strategic progress for Entain. We continued to grow our revenues in a sustainable and diversified manner.

– We have expanded our global reach, increasing our appeal to customers, entering new areas of entertainment and providing a secure environment. All of this has led to a record number of active customers in Q4, as well as a full-year earnings performance of EBITDA exceeded our previous expectations –  concluded Andersen.

At the beginning of the year, the gambling giant announced that it intends to speed up the process of exiting markets where no national regulation is in place or planned.
