Flutter Finalizes €2.3 Billion Acquisition of Snaitech
Flutter Entertainment has officially completed its €2.3 billion acquisition of Italian operator Snaitech. The deal significantly strengthens Flutter’s position in Europe’s largest regulated gambling market and is expected to increase the group’s online market share in Italy to around 30%.

Flutter Strengthens Italian Footprint
Flutter Entertainment announced the closing of its purchase of Snaitech S.p.A. from a Playtech subsidiary. This step supports Flutter’s strategy to lead in high-potential international markets. Italy, while the largest regulated gambling market in Europe, still shows low online penetration. That gap creates a clear growth opportunity.
Strict advertising rules in Italy make customer acquisition challenging. However, Snai’s strong retail network offers a major advantage. Flutter plans to use this presence to reach players across channels, combining digital tools with in-person engagement. This approach aligns with Flutter’s broader strategy in Southern Europe.
Synergies and Growth Outlook
Flutter expects to unlock at least €70 million in operating cost synergies within three years. It also targets €10 million in capital expenditure savings. The group aims to achieve these gains by integrating Snai into its Southern Europe and Africa division.
In addition, Flutter plans to apply its proprietary Flutter Edge tools to improve performance. These tools will support better pricing, risk management, and customer experience. As a result, the company expects to see revenue synergies and stronger customer retention.
Snai brings a well-known Italian brand with a loyal customer base. Its strong position in both online and retail makes it a valuable addition. According to Flutter, this acquisition will expand its customer acquisition pipeline and support its “local hero” brand strategy.
Executive Comment on The Acquisition
Peter Jackson, CEO of Flutter, stated:
“I am delighted to welcome Snai, one of the leading gaming brands in Italy, to the Group. Snai’s significant omnichannel presence brings strategically important assets to enhance Flutter’s position in Italy. The transaction fits perfectly with our strategy for value creating M&A and is expected to bring about significant growth opportunities for Snai by providing access to Flutter’s market leading products and capabilities. It is with great excitement we can now start working with Snai to implement our robust integration plans and begin to realise the compelling benefits of this combination.”
