Flutter Names Kevin Harrington as New UK & Ireland CEO
Kevin Harrington has been appointed as the new UK & Ireland CEO of Flutter Entertainment, replacing Ian Brown. This is part of a major restructure for the company, which is consolidating its global operations into a two division model.
Leadership Change
Kevin Harrington, former CEO of PokerStars, will head up the UK & Ireland division. He has nearly 20 years of gaming industry experience, including stints at Betfair and Paddy Power. He’s well placed to do this job as Flutter refocuses globally.
Outgoing CEO Ian Brown has been in the role for two years and has led the transformation of the UK & Ireland business. He said: “The transformation over the last two years has been tremendously exciting. I am particularly proud that we have taken share in a challenging market, investing in customer innovation and our people. Kevin has a deep knowledge of our business, and I am confident he will build on the strong momentum to take Flutter UKI to new heights. I would like to say a sincere thank you to Peter and the whole Flutter team for what has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.”
Reorganisation
Flutter’s restructure is consolidating its global operations into two divisions: one for the US and one for all other international markets. This brings together UK & Ireland, Australia, Asia-Pacific, Southern Europe & Africa, Central & Eastern Europe and Brazil into Flutter International.
This follows Flutter’s decision to list its primary stock on the New York Stock Exchange, with London as a secondary listing and Euronext Dublin to be delisted. The company’s focus on the US market is in line with its Q3 results which showed over 50% growth in the region, which accounts for 38.5% of Flutter’s revenue.
Industry Comment
Peter Jackson, CEO of Flutter Entertainment said: “Ian’s time at Flutter has been enormously successful. He has transformed the UK & Ireland business on almost every metric and he will be a hard act to follow. Kevin’s promotion is very well-deserved and the business will be in safe hands as we embark on the next phase of our growth plan.”
New CEO for UK & Ireland, Kevin Harrington said: “I’m incredibly proud to be given the chance to take over and run a business I first joined more than a decade ago. I want to continue the work that has made Flutter the clear market leader across the UK and Ireland and maintain the high standards we have set – with responsible gambling at the core of all our work.”
