Gamstop Introduces Auto-Renewal Option After Record Registrations
Gamstop has begun the year with record registration numbers and a new 5-year auto-renewal exclusion option. It’s designed to offer users greater control over their gambling habits.
Record Registrations Start the Year
Gamstop experienced a surge in registrations at the start of the year, with daily figures reaching their highest levels since May 2023.
The organization recorded 415 new registrations on January 1st, followed by 413 on January 2nd and 396 on January 6th, indicating a significant increase in individuals seeking to self-exclude from gambling.
New Five-Year Auto-Renewal Exclusion
Responding to user feedback, Gamstop has introduced a new ‘5-year auto-renewal’ exclusion option. This feature allows users to automatically extend their exclusion for additional five-year periods without needing to manually renew.
The development of this option was informed by an independent evaluation by Ipsos, which highlighted a desire among users for longer-term exclusion options and concerns about their exclusion periods ending.
Email Reminders for Auto-Renewal Users
To ensure users remain informed, Gamstop will send email reminders every 15 months to those with 5-year exclusions.
These reminders will notify users about upcoming expiration and renewal dates, helping them to stay aware of their exclusion status.
The auto-renewal option complements the existing 6-month, 1-year, and 5-year exclusion periods already offered by Gamstop.
