Gegidze CEO on Georgia’s New iGaming License and Its Global Impact
Business consulting and acceleration firm Gegidze has launched Georgia’s first iGaming license solution, creating a new opportunity for global operators. The initiative offers a highly competitive 5% Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) tax rate, positioning Georgia as an attractive alternative to traditional licensing jurisdictions. To better understand the motivations behind this move and its potential impact, we spoke with Gegidze CEO Valerian Gegidze about key aspects of the new licensing framework.

A New iGaming Destination
As the sole provider of this gaming license in Georgia, Gegidze ensures a streamlined, fully remote onboarding process. The country’s business-friendly regulatory framework, combined with its strategic location between Europe and Asia, enhances its appeal as a global gaming hub.
With increasing regulatory pressures and rising operational costs in other markets, Georgia presents an alternative that allows operators to reduce expenses while benefiting from a digital-first approach.
When asked what prompted the launch of this licensing solution, Valerian Gegidze explained:
“The Georgian government introduced a new license in December 2024, so we saw an opportunity to add our business expertise and grow into a new market, helping grow job opportunities and increase foreign capital coming into Georgia’s economy.”
Industry Leaders on Georgia’s Potential
Valerian Gegidze emphasized the long-term vision for this initiative, stating:
“We see this as great opportunity for brining more international companies to Georgia, learning more about the industry and providing more sophisticated solutions.”
Giorgi Tsamalaidze, CLO at Random Systems Georgia, the country’s iGaming regulator, echoed this sentiment, saying:
“Georgia’s emergence as a premier iGaming hub is a testament to our commitment to fostering innovation and economic growth. Introducing opportunities to attract top tier international operators and expand the reach of our permit holders are the primary goals for us.”
Addressing Key iGaming Challenges
The iGaming sector faces increasing challenges, from complex compliance requirements to high licensing costs. Gegidze aims to address these pain points by offering a seamless licensing process and comprehensive business support. When asked what key issues the company hopes to address, Gegidze responded:
“Help companies operated smoothly globaly, without any headaches related to compliance, licensing and also payment solutions.”
Georgia’s Competitive Edge
With established licensing hubs like Malta, Gibraltar, and Curacao, Georgia enters the market with a distinctive edge. When asked how Georgia compares to these jurisdictions and whether interest has come from major global brands or new operators, Gegidze pointed out:
“It’s really the fact that it is a global, government backed license, not like Curacao and other licenses that raise many question marks and problems as well.”
He also noted the industry’s response, stating:
“So far, we got a positive response from all the players regarding the solution.”
Key Features of Gegidze’s Gaming License
Gegidze’s licensing solution provides a range of benefits designed to support both established gaming companies and emerging startups:

Long-Term Tax Incentives and Future Outlook
One of the key advantages of the Georgian license is the low 5% GGR tax. When asked if this rate will be maintained long-term, Gegidze responded:
“So far Georgia has mainteinted all tax incentives for IT and trading companies, and this will be the same, as the goal of the country is to become home for global companies, looking to have affordable operations centers and run business smoothly in cost efficient enviroment, the more we can add to that at Gegidze, the more we can grow something special and rewarding for our colleagues and partners.”
Georgia’s Growing Role in iGaming
The launch of Georgia’s iGaming license solution comes as the industry continues its global expansion, with the market projected to reach $133.59 billion by 2029, according to Statista.
Gegidze aims to capture a share of this growing market by providing operators with a regulatory framework designed for efficiency and cost reduction.
Vakho Tchitava, CEO at Bitanica.com & Fastoo.com, commented on the initiative’s potential, stating:
“Through our work with Gegidze, it is exciting to help Georgia pave the way for a dynamic iGaming landscape, creating fertile ground for international growth and innovation while providing robust support for our local operators.
