Gregory Petts Takes Over as Chairman of GSC
Gregory Petts has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC). A seasoned auditor with sector-specific experience, Petts steps into the role at a time when regulatory scrutiny and international compliance remain central to the jurisdiction’s priorities.

Experienced Leadership for a Regulated Market
The Isle of Man Treasury selected Petts to lead the GSC, entrusting him with overseeing regulatory standards in one of Europe’s well-regarded gambling jurisdictions. Petts, a Chartered Accountant, brings expertise in internal audit, governance, and risk management. He has served as a GSC Commissioner for the past five years, contributing to oversight efforts across gambling, finance, and life assurance.
Under Petts’ leadership, the GSC aims to continue aligning with global standards, particularly in areas related to anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. The Commission maintains that effective supervision requires both collaboration and sustained investment in enforcement capabilities.
Balancing Growth with Regulatory Responsibility
Petts emphasized the need to balance responsible growth with robust oversight:
“It is essential to strike a balance, maintaining responsible growth of the sector and continuing to uphold a strong regulatory framework. Maintaining the Isle of Man’s international reputation as a trusted and respected jurisdiction is of the utmost importance.”
