IGT Extends Partnership With Lotto Thüringen for Seven Years
International Game Technology (IGT) has secured a seven-year contract extension with Lotto Thüringen in Germany, set to modernize the lottery’s operations. The agreement includes implementing IGT’s Aurora central lottery system and upgraded software, aiming for enhanced efficiency.

Aurora System to Modernize Lottery Operations
The Aurora platform, part of IGT’s Omnia omnichannel solution, is designed to streamline transaction processing, game management, and back-office functions.
This system incorporates various tools and reporting capabilities, which will enable Lotto Thüringen to adapt to evolving operational needs.
The new system is scheduled to go live in March 2026, marking a significant upgrade for the lottery.
Long-Term Partnership and Technological Upgrades
Lotto Thüringen CEO, Jochen Staschewski, emphasized the long-standing relationship with IGT, stating:
“Lotto Thüringen has relied on IGT’s versatile and strong-performing central system technology throughout the course of our decades-long relationship.”
He added that upgrading to IGT’s advanced platform and back-end software will streamline business processes and maintain high levels of efficiency.
IGT’s Commitment to Lottery Modernization
Jay Gendron, IGT’s COO for Global Lottery, noted that IGT’s retail central system offers flexible solutions to manage and grow Lotto Thüringen’s business.
He said, “IGT’s retail central system incorporates a suite of flexible solutions designed to help manage, transform and further grow Lotto Thüringen’s business.”
This contract extension ensures that Lotto Thüringen will benefit from IGT’s secure and modern technology, supporting the lottery’s goals of contributing to good causes throughout the state.
This deal follows a similar ten-year agreement IGT recently signed with Luxembourg’s national lottery, Loterie Nationale.
