IGT Rebrands Lottery Division as Brightstar
IGT’s lottery division has officially rebranded as Brightstar Lottery ahead of its planned separation from IGT’s gaming and digital business. The spin-off, expected to finalize by July 1, 2025, will position Brightstar as a dedicated global lottery operator with one of the largest footprints in the industry.

IGT’s Lottery Arm Takes on a New Identity
International Game Technology (IGT) announced that its global lottery organization will now operate under the name Brightstar Lottery, effective immediately. The rebrand comes as IGT prepares to complete the sale of its Gaming and Digital division to Voyager Parent, LLC, a holding company owned by funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management.
Once the deal is finalized, Brightstar will emerge as a standalone, pure-play lottery company with a focus on modernizing lottery systems and expanding digital capabilities across markets.
“We have a nearly 50-year history of reliability, innovation, and leadership in lottery, a bedrock from which we are launching Brightstar with a future-forward mindset of helping lottery customers around the world succeed in an environment of digital adoption, shifting player expectations, and an increasing variety of gaming choices,” said Vince Sadusky, CEO of Brightstar.
Global Reach and Comprehensive Operations
Brightstar begins this new chapter with an extensive operational base. It currently serves nearly 90 lottery customers and their players on six continents. In the United States alone, it is the primary technology provider for 26 out of 46 lottery jurisdictions, and globally, it supports seven of the world’s ten largest lotteries.
The company will continue to operate across the entire lottery value chain — acting as a lottery operator, retail and digital systems provider, full-service instant ticket provider, and game creator.
“Brightstar will be well-positioned to focus on driving innovation and growing the potential of the lottery business responsibly for the entertainment of players, the success of our customers, and the support of the good causes they fund in their communities,” said Marco Sala, Executive Chair of the Board, Brightstar.
Brightstar says it aims to blend its long-standing expertise with innovation, providing what it describes as “responsible, sustainable solutions” for lottery operators around the world.
Timeline for Legal and Market Transition
Although the business is already operating under the Brightstar name, the legal name remains International Game Technology PLC until the formal change to Brightstar Lottery PLC is registered with the U.K. Companies House. This is expected to happen after the closing of the sale and the concurrent acquisition of Everi Holdings Inc. by Apollo-managed funds.
After the deal closes, Brightstar’s ordinary shares will continue to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under a new ticker symbol, BRSL, starting on or about July 2, 2025. The company’s CUSIP will remain unchanged, and no action is required from shareholders.
According to the announcement, following the transaction, “the Buyer and Everi will use the ‘IGT’ and ‘International Game Technology’ names,” while Brightstar will move forward with its new identity and brand focus.
