IGT Receives Vendor License from UAE’s Gaming Regulator
International Game Technology (IGT) has been granted a Gaming-Related Vendor License by the United Arab Emirates’ General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), positioning the gaming supplier to operate within one of the most closely watched emerging markets in the industry.

IGT’s Role in UAE’s Gaming Framework
The license allows IGT to supply technology and support services to commercial gaming operators in the UAE. Only approved businesses and individuals can legally operate in the country’s gaming sector, including service providers. IGT now joins a select group of licensed vendors such as Novomatic and Aristocrat.
With this approval, IGT meets all federal compliance standards, making it eligible to support future operators. The company can now engage in projects like the upcoming integrated resorts that are set to shape the UAE’s gaming future.
A Strategic Market Entry
By gaining early regulatory clearance, IGT positions itself ahead of many global competitors. The GCGRA, established to oversee all commercial gaming in the UAE, regulates land-based casinos, lotteries, sports wagering, and online gaming. Its authority covers key verticals including slots, blackjack, baccarat, and roulette.
The GCGRA operates under the leadership of CEO Kevin Mullaly and Chairman Jim Murren. Mullaly previously served as Vice President at Gaming Laboratories International. Murren, the former CEO of MGM Resorts International, brings executive experience from the U.S. casino industry.
As one of the first gaming suppliers to be licensed by the GCGRA, IGT is now strategically positioned to support early-stage developments like the planned Wynn Al Marjan Island resort, which is set to become the UAE’s first commercial gaming venue upon opening in 2027.
