Kambi to Take Over OLG Sports Betting Contract from FDJ
Kambi Group plc has signed an agreement to assume the sports betting contract between FDJ Group and Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). The transition, pending regulatory and contractual conditions, will see Kambi replace FDJ as OLG’s long-term sports betting provider, with the agreement running until 2032.

FDJ’s Strategic Shift and Kambi’s Role
FDJ has been refocusing its international strategy toward B2C operations in the lottery, sports betting, and online gaming sectors. As part of this shift, FDJ selected Kambi as its preferred successor for the OLG contract. All three parties—FDJ, Kambi, and OLG—have agreed to a contract novation process that will formalize Kambi’s takeover of the partnership.
For Kambi to finalize the contract assumption, it must make an initial financial investment. The company has stated that this expenditure will not be factored into its full-year 2025 operating budget guidance.
OLG operates Ontario’s gaming and lottery activities, including its PROLINE sports betting platform, which is available online and at approximately 10,000 retail locations. Until market regulations changed in April 2022, OLG was the sole legal provider of online sports betting in Ontario. Despite increased competition from new market entrants, Kambi sees potential in OLG’s established brand and retail presence.
Expected Migration Timeline
The transition process is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025. Kambi CEO Werner Becher expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating:
“The prospect of partnering with an organisation of the size and stature of OLG is an exciting one for Kambi and we are working diligently to complete the novation process with FDJ and launch later this year. Ontario has a competitive online market, but I believe a combination of OLG and Kambi will see PROLINE rightly compete with market leaders while continuing to raise the bar of its retail product.”
