Ladbrokes Ads Appear on Baby Monitor App Sparking Outrage
Ladbrokes advertisements have surfaced on a smartphone app used as a baby monitor, raising concerns among parents and campaigners. The incident has reignited calls for stricter regulations on gambling advertising.

Gambling Ads Reach New Parents
A user of the YCC365 Plus app, available on the Apple App Store, reported seeing a Ladbrokes promotion offering a “£30 welcome bonus.” The app, marketed as a home monitoring camera and baby monitor tool, displayed the ad to “exhausted parents.” This incident follows previous accusations against Entain brands for targeting new parents.
Entain, the owner of Ladbrokes, defended the ad placement, stating that it did not violate its guidelines. The company argued that the app was a “home monitoring camera” not specifically targeted at under-18s. However, critics argue that the app’s use as a baby monitor makes the ad inappropriate.
Calls for Advertising Crackdown
Tom Fleming, a concerned parent, expressed his dismay, stating, “Watching my baby on camera with a gambling ad visible just feels wrong.” Campaigners and peers are now urging the government to crack down on gambling advertising more broadly.
Don Foster, a peer, criticized the current system, saying, “The whole system of gambling adverts in this country is now completely out of control.”
