Leaders in Compliance Conference Announces Agenda

The agenda for the upcoming Leaders in Compliance Conference, scheduled for May 8–9 at the Frankfurt Airport Hotel, has been officially released. The two-day event will feature strategic discussions in the morning and practical compliance sessions in the afternoon, covering key topics such as cross-border regulation, AML reforms, and responsible risk management.

Strategic Focus in the Morning, Practical Tools in the Afternoon

The upcoming Leaders in Compliance Conference, set for May 8–9 at the Frankfurt Airport Hotel, has released the details of its preliminary agenda. Structured to balance forward-looking insights and hands-on advice, the event will feature two distinct parts. Morning sessions will center on strategic and regulatory developments, while afternoon panels will address operational challenges and compliance tools tailored for Europe’s regulated gambling markets.

Thought Leadership and Regulatory Insights

Key figures from major gaming companies and associations are set to headline the morning discussions on May 9. Ewout Keuleers, General Counsel at Unibet, will open with an examination of cross-jurisdictional compliance hurdles. Dr. Birgit Bosch, Group Compliance Director at Tipico, will explore how the discipline is evolving alongside regulatory changes.

Additional speakers include Corinne Valletta, General Counsel at Betsson Operations, who will discuss managing relationships with regulators, and Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), who will tackle the path toward regulatory standardization. Josh Hodgson, COO of H2 Gambling Capital, will address the broader market impact of regulatory interventions.

Operational Challenges and Emerging Tools

The afternoon sessions will transition into applied topics. A masterclass hosted by the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) will analyze responsible risk management and the risks of overregulation. The panel includes Cristian Radu (ONJN), Dr. Joerg Hoffman (Melchers Law), and Jochen Biewer (Chevron Group).

Other panel discussions will include a look at the Italian market’s re-regulation, featuring Stefano Sbordoni and Marco Gatti, and a session on the EU’s upcoming single rulebook for anti-money laundering (AML), led by Dr. Matthias Spitz.

Technological compliance will also be a key theme. Roger Cowin from VIXIO Regulatory Intelligence will speak on tools for cross-jurisdictional operations, while Adam Parkinson and Peter Murray will cover the role of payments compliance and AI-driven fraud prevention. Daniel Gambin of Letzz.io will close the day with a session on positioning compliance as a growth enabler.

Networking Opportunities and Broader Context

On May 8, the conference will kick off with a series of networking events in the afternoon and evening. These gatherings are designed to foster dialogue between legal professionals, operators, and regulators ahead of the full-day conference.

Willem van Oort, founder of Leaders in Compliance and Gaming in Europe, emphasized the growing significance of compliance:

“With compliance becoming an increasingly important business enabler in European regulated gambling markets, I believe we are offering a well-balanced program that contains both strategic thought leadership and highly practical information on compliance from a more operational perspective. If you are a professional working in gambling-related compliance, this event is not to be missed.”

All session titles are provisional.
