Kambi – Chairman and Co-Founder

Ström’s association with Kambi, a key B2B provider in sports betting, spans over 15 years and 11 months, beginning with the company’s inception. He currently holds the top governance position as Chairman of the Board, a role he assumed in November 2023 and continues to hold (over 2 years).

Prior to this, he served as Co-Founder & Director for over 13 years and 11 months, from January 2010 until November 2023. He co-founded Kambi with Kristian Nylén, following the development of the idea in 2009.

His involvement included service on the advisory committee until the Initial Public Offering (IPO) on Nasdaq OMX First North in June 2014, after which he remained a dedicated member of the Board of Directors.

Veralda – Chairman of the Board

For a span of 17 years, Ström has maintained his role as Chairman of the Board at Veralda since December 2008.

This long-standing tenure highlights his continuous engagement in governance and strategic oversight outside of his primary iGaming ventures.

Kindred Group PLC (Unibet) – Founder & Chairman

Ström is perhaps most renowned for founding the global operator Kindred Group (originally Unibet), where his continuous executive and leadership role spanned over 23 years and 8 months.

He held the position of Founder & Chairman of the Board for 4 years and 6 months from December 2016 until May 2021, following the name change of Unibet Group plc to Kindred Group plc on December 6, 2016.

Before this transition, he served as Founder & Chairman of the Board for 19 years and 3 months, starting in October 1997. Throughout this time, he was instrumental in the company’s growth, holding various executive and directorial positions, including Managing Director, CEO, Business Development Director, Chairman, and Director.

He has overseen the development of a platform that has been “Delivering a proven and hugely successful platform for gambling and gaming” for almost 25 years.

Hattrick – Advisory Board Member

His involvement extended to the online gaming sphere where he served as an Advisory Board Member for 4 years and 3 months, from February 2008 to April 2012.

As a Partner and member of the Advisory Board, his focus was on Business Development for the popular online games www.hattrick. org and www.popmundo. com. This tenure concluded when Hattrick was sold to Zattikka PLC in the UK in April 2012.

Trav- och Sporttjänst AB – Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Ström’s entrepreneurial beginnings trace back to August 1993, when he founded the Trav- och Sporttjänsten group of companies.

He served as Founder & Chief Executive Officer for 4 years and 2 months until September 1997, when he made the decision to step away and establish his first company dedicated to the online gaming business.

Education

His academic pursuits included studies in Mathematics, Statistics & Economics at Karlstad University from 1991-1993. However, his studies were cut short as he “Did not have much time since the Internet had just arrived. Dropped out to start my first company. Never looked back,” a statement that highlights his immediate commitment to hands on entrepreneurial work in the face of new digital opportunities.
