Andre Carrier

Andre Carrier is one of the few executives in the US casino sector who built his career across both major Las Vegas operators and smaller regional properties. He now leads Eureka Casinos, an employee-owned gaming group with operations in Nevada and New Hampshire.

Bio

Early Years In New Hampshire

Carrier grew up in Jackson, a small community where work and responsibility came early. His family operated local businesses and introduced him to hospitality long before he entered the casino sector. He often recalls that he was expected to understand every part of the business, including the least attractive tasks.

By his mid-teens he was managing restaurant shifts alone. It taught him operational discipline and the value of being directly involved in frontline work. These principles continue to shape his management approach.

First Roles In Las Vegas

After completing his studies at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration he moved to Las Vegas. He joined Sahara Resorts and Santa Fe Gaming in roles that positioned him close to day-to-day operations. The work covered marketing, administrative oversight and development planning.

The experience exposed him to the mechanics of local casinos and the demands of neighbourhood markets. It was his first sustained exposure to the business models that define regional gaming properties.

Mirage Resorts And The Golden Nugget

Carrier’s profile rose when Mirage Resorts offered him a senior operational role. He became chief operating officer of Golden Nugget Laughlin at an unusually early stage in his career. He later took responsibility for both the Laughlin and Las Vegas Golden Nugget properties.

This period included major redevelopment projects and several changes in ownership. The Golden Nugget assets moved from a public company to private entrepreneurs and later to a family-owned hospitality group. Carrier worked through each transition and built a reputation as a steady operator in markets that required consistent management.

Joining Eureka Casinos

In 2007 he joined Greg Lee at Eureka Casinos, a Nevada-based operator with properties in Mesquite and Las Vegas. The company focused on regional markets and long-term operational stability. Carrier’s role involved modernising operations and developing a clearer strategic direction for a business that was preparing for structural change.

Eureka Casino Resort in Mesquite expanded its reputation for service quality and workplace culture. The Las Vegas property continued to perform as a local casino with strong recurring visitation.

Transition To Employee Ownership

Eureka later moved into an employee-ownership structure. The company became fully owned by its workforce through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Carrier became one of the key figures responsible for managing the transition and communicating its purpose to staff.

The ESOP model provided employees with long-term financial participation in the business. It also influenced workplace culture and retention levels. Eureka began to appear in national rankings for medium-sized employers and positioned the ownership structure as part of its competitive identity.

Expansion Into New Hampshire

Carrier led Eureka’s entry into New England after the acquisition of the former Seabrook Greyhound Park. The site was redeveloped into The Brook, a modern gaming and entertainment complex operating under New Hampshire’s charity-gaming regulations.

A portion of gaming revenue supports local nonprofit organisations. The Brook became one of the most prominent charity-gaming venues in the state and a key element of Eureka’s expansion strategy. The project also demonstrated the company’s ability to enter new regulatory environments and work with community-funding models.
