From Brussels Policy Circles to Playtech’s Frontlines
Before joining Playtech, Hogan spent over a decade in Brussels working at the heart of European policymaking. She advised the Maltese government and later served within the European Commission, where she was a key member of the Expert Group on Gambling Services. In this capacity, she worked on regulatory convergence and internal market issues, particularly around consumer protection and cross-border compliance.
This institutional experience laid the foundation for her deep expertise in navigating fragmented regulatory frameworks.
At Playtech, Hogan leads global regulatory strategy, working across departments to embed compliance into the company’s commercial roadmap. She engages with lawmakers, standards bodies, and advocacy groups to anticipate legislative trends and shape evidence-based regulation. Her work is instrumental in positioning Playtech not just as a compliant operator, but as a credible policy partner.
Shaping Market Access from Ontario to Latin America
Under Hogan’s guidance, Playtech has successfully entered and scaled operations in complex, tightly regulated markets. One of the standout achievements remains the company’s seamless entry into Ontario, where her leadership was crucial in securing approvals from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and aligning Playtech’s platform strategy with Canada’s newly formalized iGaming framework.
Her regulatory footprint also extends across Latin America, including Brazil, Chile, and Peru. Hogan’s team contributes actively to public consultations and policy dialogues, emphasizing responsible gambling, local stakeholder inclusion, and regulatory transparency.
In recent years, she has championed Playtech’s research initiatives across the region, including collaborative projects with academic institutions to better understand player behavior and inform future regulatory models.
Driving Global Standards and Internal Transformation
Hogan is a member of the board of the International Gaming Standards Association (IGSA), where she contributes to setting global benchmarks for regulatory compliance and technological interoperability. Her role extends beyond external advocacy—she has helped reshape Playtech’s internal regulatory culture, steering the company from a reactive posture to a proactive, strategy-driven model rooted in foresight and long-term alignment with public policy.
She is also a key voice in Playtech’s broader ESG agenda, advocating for integrated approaches to regulation, social responsibility, and sustainable industry development. Her influence is evident in Playtech’s internal governance reforms and in its thought leadership on topics such as AI in compliance, self-exclusion frameworks, and harm prevention.
A Respected Voice in Global Regulation
Hogan is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in gambling regulation. She regularly speaks at major industry events including ICE London, iGB Live, and G2E Las Vegas, where she focuses on legislative innovation, data-driven oversight, and the intersection of compliance and technology.
Her insights are frequently featured in white papers, roundtables, and policy briefings addressing everything from digital ID standards to Latin American market readiness.
