Jette Nygaard-Andersen

Early Career

Nygaard-Andersen started her career at Maersk and later worked at Accenture as a senior strategy consultant. In 2003, she joined Modern Times Group, where she spent over 15 years in various leadership roles across Europe. She headed several business units, including MTG Digital Video Company and MTG International Broadcasting, focusing on online video, pay TV, and international expansion.

Joining and leading Entain

She joined Entain’s board in 2019 as a non-executive director. Two years later, in 2021, she took over as CEO. She replaced Kenny Alexander shortly after the group rebranded from GVC Holdings to Entain. Her appointment aligned with a broader push towards regulated markets and more sustainable operations.

During her tenure, Nygaard-Andersen pushed for stronger governance and better use of technology. She supported Entain’s Advanced Responsibility and Care (ARC) program, which uses AI to detect risky player behavior.

Resignation and context

In December 2023, Nygaard-Andersen resigned as CEO. Her departure came shortly after Entain agreed to a £585 million settlement with UK authorities. The case involved bribery allegations linked to the group’s former Turkish operations, which the company sold in 2017. She said the resolution marked the right time to step away and “pursue other business opportunities.”

After her resignation, Stella David became interim CEO. Gavin Isaacs was later appointed to the role in July 2024 but stepped down just five months later. David then returned as interim CEO.

Current status

As of April 2025, Nygaard-Andersen has not announced her next move. However, her experience in leadership, tech innovation, and global operations makes her one of the most respected business figures in the wider entertainment and gaming space.​
