Bio

Early Career

In 2007, Warrer launched Rebel Penguin, a performance marketing agency focused on the online gambling sector. At a time when iGaming was rapidly expanding across Europe, the company positioned itself as a partner of choice for operators looking to scale user acquisition through affiliate channels.

Rebel Penguin quickly built a reputation in the Nordic market for its analytical approach and measurable results. This success caught the attention of larger industry players — and in 2017, the agency was acquired by Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) and integrated into its affiliate division, then known as Innovation Labs.

Acquisition by GiG

Following the acquisition, Warrer remained within GiG and took on increasing leadership responsibility. In October 2019, he was appointed Managing Director of GiG Media.

Under his leadership, GiG Media delivered consistent growth. The company focused on SEO excellence, expanded its geographical footprint, and made strategic acquisitions — including AskGamblers and KaFe Rocks — that diversified its portfolio and solidified its position as a market leader.

Warrer’s results-oriented management style and focus on performance metrics made GiG Media one of the strongest divisions within the broader group.

In September 2023, Warrer was appointed Acting Group CEO of GiG following the departure of Richard Brown. At that time, the company had announced its plan to split into two distinct entities: GiG Media and Platform & Sportsbook. Warrer continued to lead GiG Media while also overseeing the group during this transition period.

CEO of Gentoo Media

By mid-2024, the corporate split was completed. GiG Media became an independent business under the new brand Gentoo Media, with Jonas Warrer formally appointed as CEO.

Since becoming CEO, Warrer has led Gentoo Media through a period of record performance, described by the company as reaching “all-time-high success.” With a clearer strategic focus and increased operational independence, Gentoo continues to strengthen its position in the global affiliate landscape.

Warrer is known for his pragmatic leadership style: data-driven, operationally disciplined, and adaptable to the shifting regulatory and technological landscape of iGaming. He emphasizes measurable outcomes and scalable models rather than high-risk experimentation.

He holds a degree from Copenhagen Business School and is based in Charlottenlund, Denmark.
