Executive and Technological Leadership at LeoVegas
Wedar assumed the pivotal role of CEO in June 2025, marking the culmination of his significant contributions to the LeoVegas Group. This promotion followed a dedicated and impactful period as the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO), a position he held for over six years, from June 2019 to June 2025.
As CPTO, he was directly responsible for shaping the company’s core technological and commercial trajectory, overseeing product strategy, commercial development, product management, software engineering, and overall technology operations. In this critical function, he managed a large and distributed team, working across ten locations, focused on developing and enhancing the gaming experience for the group’s premium brands, which include leovegas.com, gogocasino.com, royalpanda.com, and pinkcasino.com.
Prior to joining LeoVegas, Wedar was immersed in the iGaming sector as the CEO of Gametek from October 2017 to February 2019. In this capacity, he managed the technology unit for the MRG group, which included brands such as MrGreen, specifically directing software development efforts for the iGaming ecosystem across 14 countries.
Strategic Depth in Digital Media and Transformation
Wedar’s extensive professional background demonstrates a consistent ability to lead digital transformation and manage large-scale strategic initiatives across multiple sectors. His significant tenure at Eniro, a Nordic-based search and digital media company, was instrumental in developing his executive skills.
From December 2013 to May 2017, he served as SVP, Group Products & Marketing at Eniro, where he was responsible for all product development, marketing, customer communications, and competitive intelligence. This role encompassed managing local search services and directing various digital advertising offerings, including Google AdWords and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Before this, from January 2011 to December 2013, he was CEO Eniro Sweden & Finland, managing over 1,200 full-time employees. During this time, his focus was on establishing Eniro as a leader in local search while successfully developing new revenue streams to counteract declines in print advertising.
He previously executed a full organizational restructuring as CEO and Adm.Dir of Eniro Denmark from August 2010 to January 2011, concentrating on improving sales effectiveness, implementing cost controls, and driving top-line growth. Earlier in his career at Eniro, he served as CIO from February 2006 to August 2010, where he led the group’s IT organization, managing IT strategy, systems development, and infrastructure with a focus on agile development and speed to market.
Furthermore, Wedar served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Acast from November 2018 to May 2020 and gained early experience through various roles at Accenture between August 1998 and January 2005.
Education
Wedar’s leadership is underpinned by a robust educational background from Lund University. He earned a Master’s degree in Informatics and Economics after completing his studies between January 1993 and June 1998, providing him with the essential technical and business acumen required to navigate the complexities of the modern digital and iGaming industries.
