Chow’s Ascent Through the Gaming Sector

Chow’s most recent professional activities successfully integrated him into the executive ranks of the global gaming industry. His tenure at Light & Wonder, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, clearly shows increasing responsibility, culminating in his role as the chief financial leader.

In December 2023, the company named him EVP, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. This promotion followed a five-month period where he successfully performed as the Interim Chief Financial Officer starting in August 2023. Chow began his journey with the company as the SVP of Corporate Finance in October 2022.

Before Light & Wonder, Chow spent over five years in various senior finance positions at Aristocrat. Between 2019 and 2021, he held the significant role of Chief Financial Officer – Americas, EMEA and Customer Experience. This leadership gave him crucial financial oversight across the vital EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) markets, alongside the Americas. Previously, he served as the VP of Commercial Finance for three years.

In addition to his corporate duties, Chow dedicated his expertise to the community. He served as a Member Board of Directors, Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair for the United Way of Southern Nevada from July 2023 to May 2025. Here, he applied his financial analysis and governance skills to support the non-profit’s mission.

Foundations in Media and Financial Services

Chow’s strong financial acumen developed from a diverse background spanning the entertainment and banking sectors. These roles provided him with a comprehensive understanding of financial management, strategic planning, and process optimisation.

His career included key roles in the media and content industry. He briefly served as Senior Director of Finance at Universal Pictures in 2016. Earlier, he spent three years as Vice President of Finance at Deluxe Entertainment Services.

He managed the day-to-day financial operations for the company’s worldwide media services, supporting the divisional CFO and overseeing key functions like digital distribution and localization. From 2007 to 2011, he served as the Senior Manager of Finance- Deluxe Digital Media & Advertising Services, managing critical functions such as budgeting and forecasting.

Chow’s foundational experience began in banking and corporate strategy. He worked as Vice President – Finance at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from 2011 to 2013, providing business oversight for the California region. Before that, he spent two years as a Sales Analyst for The Wonderful Company, focusing on strategic optimization.

His career started as a Financial Analyst at JP Morgan Chase (2002 to 2005). He gained exposure to various aspects of Investment Bank Finance and Global Finance through a successful two-year rotational leadership program.

Academic Credentials

Strong educational credentials from respected institutions support Oliver Chow’s strategic leadership. He earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from the UCLA Anderson School of Management between 2016 and 2018.

His academic foundation is a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration from the University at Albany, which he completed from 1998 to 2002.
