Bio

Industry experience driving structural change

Werner Becher took over as CEO of Kambi during a period of change. He replaced co-founder Kristian Nylén amid growing demand for agile and customizable sportsbook solutions. With more than a decade of senior experience in iGaming, Becher brought a clear vision to the role. Previously, he served as CEO of Interwetten and Managing Director Europe at Sportradar. As a result, he understood the operational pressures facing B2B providers. Soon after his appointment, he began to reposition Kambi’s strategy, focusing on modular architecture.

Strategic emphasis on AI and operational autonomy

From the outset, Werner Becher made enhancing Kambi’s AI capabilities a key objective. In particular, he highlighted the role of Tzeract, the company’s in-house AI division. Under his leadership, Tzeract has become central to pricing and risk operations. It now supports functions such as automated trading and predictive modeling. Consequently, operators are gaining more control over odds management and real-time decision-making.

Educational background supporting a tech-forward mindset

In addition to his industry experience, Becher draws on a strong academic background. He studied Business Administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, a leading institution in Central Europe. Thanks to this foundation, he is able to combine structured thinking with product-focused leadership. Moreover, his education has supported his ability to bridge the gap between commercial strategy and technical innovation. At Kambi, this translates into a leadership style that prioritizes flexibility, adaptability, and long-term competitiveness.
