Lottoland Reaches 20 Million Customers Amid Global Expansion and Sustainability Efforts

Lottoland has achieved a major milestone, surpassing 20 million customers worldwide. This significant growth highlights the company’s rapid expansion over the past five years, doubling its customer base from 10 million in 2019.

Global Expansion Drives Growth

Operating in 15 markets, Lottoland welcomed 2.5 million new customers in the past year alone. The company’s diverse portfolio of lottery products, including international draws and instant jackpots, has been central to its success.

One standout contributor has been KenoGo, which boasts the world’s largest Keno jackpot. Since its launch, the product has experienced 15% monthly growth, with total player winnings exceeding $100 million.

Strategic Moves in Latin America

In August 2024, Lottoland applied for a license to enter Brazil’s federally regulated market. With year-on-year growth already evident in Latin America, the company views this expansion as an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the region. Approval of the license could further enhance Lottoland’s foothold in the Latin American market.

Commitment to Sustainability

Lottoland has also prioritized environmental sustainability. The company has been certified as carbon-neutral for the third consecutive year, reducing carbon emissions by 25 tonnes in 2023.

Through its Lottoland Cares initiative, the company supports various community and wildlife projects. In Malta, Lottoland has renewed its partnership with the Wildlife Rescue Team, contributing to the construction of a new rehabilitation center for injured animals.

Originally launched during the COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa, Lottoland Cares continues to fund impactful initiatives.

CEO Reflects on Lottoland’s Journey

Nigel Birrell, CEO of Lottoland, emphasized the company’s pioneering approach:

“Back in 2013, Lottoland was the first company in the sector to have established its own insurance model which allowed us to continuously offer something exciting for our customers, with new products and record-breaking jackpots.”

Navigating Regulatory Challenges

Despite its achievements, Lottoland continues to engage with regulatory developments, particularly in Ireland. The operator has voiced concerns over the potential impact of the Gambling Regulation Bill 2022 on its operations and revenue streams.
