Lottomatica to Enter Stoxx Europe 600 as Playtech Exits

Lottomatica Group will be added to the Stoxx Europe 600 Index on June 23, marking a significant milestone for the Italian gambling operator. The inclusion follows the index’s latest quarterly review and comes just two years after Lottomatica’s IPO. At the same time, Playtech will be removed from the index.

Inclusion Signals Lottomatica’s Market Rise

The decision to include Lottomatica in the Stoxx Europe 600 reflects the company’s rapid expansion and growing market presence since going public in 2023. Its rising valuation and consistent trading activity have brought it in line with the index’s criteria, which are based on free-float market capitalization and liquidity.

As Lottomatica joins the index, Playtech is set to be dropped. The UK-based gaming technology firm will no longer be among the 600 most significant companies tracked across 17 European markets. The change indicates a relative shift in the market position of both companies.

Regular Review and Maintenance of the Index

The Stoxx Europe 600 is reviewed quarterly to ensure it continues to represent the most relevant and liquid stocks in Europe. The index spans large-, mid-, and small-cap firms across developed European economies. Updates are made based on clear criteria, with changes taking effect in June, September, December, and March.
