Merkur Group Restructures Leadership

The Merkur Group has announced a significant generational shift in its leadership, effective January 1. The restructuring includes the appointment of Dominik Raasch, Meik Sellenriek, and David Schnabel to the Management Board.

A Generational Shift

Dominik Raasch, currently Head of Sales and Management Spokesman for adp Merkur, will join the Management Board with responsibility for Merkur Sales. Meik Sellenriek, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Management Spokesman for Merkur Casino, will oversee national and international arcade operations. Meanwhile, David Schnabel, Managing Director of Merkur Spielbanken, will lead a newly created division focused on casino management.

Michael Gauselmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Merkur.com AG, expressed confidence in the new appointees, stating: “They all have the Merkur gene and have proven in the past that they are ready to take the lead in driving forward the strategic development in their respective divisions.”

Honoring the Legacy of Jürgen Stühmeyer

As part of the restructuring, Jürgen Stühmeyer, Vice-Chair of the Management Board and a cornerstone of Merkur’s growth, will transition to the Supervisory Board and the Gauselmann Family Foundation’s Board of Directors. After a remarkable 37-year career, Stühmeyer will continue to contribute his expertise in a strategic capacity.

Michael Gauselmann noted: “Together with my father, Jürgen Stühmeyer has made a significant contribution to developing the Merkur Group into a successful international company. adp’s success bears his signature.”

Profiles of the New Leadership Team

Dominik Raasch

A 40-year-old business administration graduate, Dominik Raasch joined Merkur in 2004. Over two decades, he has held various leadership roles, including Head of Market Research, Brand Management, and Global Product Management. His recent role as Head of Sales solidified his reputation as an industry innovator. Raasch is expected to further strengthen Merkur’s position as a leader in gaming innovation.

Meik Sellenriek

With 27 years at Merkur, Meik Sellenriek’s career spans SAP consultancy, project management, and leadership in the arcade segment. As Managing Director and CFO since 2012, Sellenriek has driven Merkur’s national and international arcade operations. His expertise positions him well to lead the gaming operations division.

David Schnabel

David Schnabel, a 10-year veteran of Merkur and an experienced casino specialist, will lead the newly established casino management division. Schnabel’s tenure includes spearheading player protection initiatives and developing casinos as a key revenue stream. His prior experience with Westspiel Group further enhances his credentials.

A Farewell to Dieter Kuhlmann

Dieter Kuhlmann, who has overseen the Gaming Operations segment since 2011, will retire after over two decades with the company. His leadership has been instrumental in driving success and setting benchmarks in personnel management and operational excellence.

Acknowledging his contributions, Michael Gauselmann remarked: “Not only has Mr. Kuhlmann been exceptionally successful, he has also set benchmarks in terms of personnel management and recognition of the work of employees in the branches.”

Sharing his thoughts on the transition, Michael Gauselmann added: “It is a great pleasure for me that we have successfully completed the rejuvenation of the Group’s Management Board with these personnel changes. We are looking forward to the challenges of the future and are in the best possible position to meet them.”
