Million Games Seeks Licences from UK, Sweden, and Malta to Strengthen Global Market Presence
Million Games has begun the process of acquiring a licence from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and plans to apply for approvals from the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) and Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) later in 2025.

UKGC application marks first step
The company’s licensing journey begins with the UKGC, known for its strict regulatory standards. Million Games selected the UK as its first target due to the Commission’s reputation as a leading authority in gambling compliance and consumer protection.
Expansion into Swedish and Maltese markets
Later this year, Million Games will pursue licences in Sweden and Malta. Both jurisdictions are home to well-established regulatory frameworks and are considered gateways to broader European market access. These efforts form part of the company’s aim to scale operations internationally in partnership with other studios.
Compliance and credibility at the core
According to CEO Thomas Nimstad, the licensing process is central to the company’s long-term strategy.
“Licensing is a cornerstone of trust and growth in iGaming,” Nimstad said.
“By securing these licences, we aim to provide Million Games and our partner studios with seamless access to some of the world’s most lucrative and well-regulated gaming markets.”
The licences will also validate the company’s technology, internal processes, and key personnel. This is expected to enhance trust among operators, aggregators, and the wider network of partner studios operating under the Million Stars brand.
Operational benefits for partner studios
The company highlighted several expected advantages of its licensing plan:
-
Simplified compliance requirements for partner studios
-
Faster market entry in regulated jurisdictions
-
Increased credibility in operator and aggregator negotiations
These benefits aim to free partner studios to focus on game development while ensuring that all offerings meet regulatory expectations in multiple regions.
