Pagcor Provides Aid for Typhoon-Hit Communities
Pagcor has allocated PHP 50.39 million (US $854,186) to support families affected by Typhoon Tino and Super Typhoon Uwan. The regulator is distributing relief packs across several provinces hit hard by the recent storms. The initiative expands Pagcor’s broader effort to assist communities during national emergencies.

Relief Efforts Across Multiple Provinces
Pagcor chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said the agency used the funds to secure 31,500 relief packs containing food and essential supplies. These packs support families in the areas most impacted by the two typhoons. Tengco confirmed that Pagcor handed over 15,000 packs worth PHP14.78 million to the Office of Civil Defense shortly after Typhoon Tino. Alejandro Tengco said:
“Following the onslaught of Typhoon Tino in early November, we already turned over 15,000 relief packs worth PHP 14.78 million to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) … to help affected communities. In times of calamities, Pagcor will always be ready to step in and extend support to our fellow Filipinos.”
Additional Support for Education in Impacted Regions
Pagcor expanded its assistance by donating 2,000 computer tablets valued at PHP 17.54 million to several Visayas cities.

Cebu City will receive 1,000 units, while Iloilo and Bacolod will each receive 500 tablets for use in public schools. The regulator said the donation aims to support students whose learning was disrupted by recent disasters. Tengco added:
“Through this donation, we hope to help learners continue their studies despite the challenges brought by the recent calamities. Education is key to building a better future, and Pagcor will always be a partner in making that possible.”
These actions highlight Pagcor’s broader role in recovery efforts beyond emergency relief. The regulator said it will continue offering support where needed.
