Playtech Chairman Steps Down Amidst Strategic Shift
Playtech’s Chairman, Brian Mattingley, will depart after a transition, marking a significant change as the company consolidates its committees and expands its B2B focus.

Leadership Transition at Playtech
Brian Mattingley, who became a member of Playtech’s board in 2021, will step down from his position as Chairman. His departure follows a period of significant strategic changes, including the sale of Snaitech and a move towards a business-to-business model. Mattingley will remain in his role during a transition period to ensure a smooth handover to his successor.
Committee Restructuring and Appointments
Playtech’s board has also announced a restructuring of its committees, effective from March 1, 2025. The Regulatory & Compliance and Sustainability Committees will merge into a single Sustainability & Compliance Committee. Linda Marston-Weston will chair this new entity.
Samy Reeb will take over as Chair of the Remuneration Committee, replacing Anna Massion, while also continuing his role on the Audit & Risk Committee.
Strategic Growth and Market Expansion
Playtech has been actively expanding its presence in regulated markets. In January 2025, the company launched its bingo platform in the Netherlands through a partnership with Nederlandse Loterij.
This launch integrated more than 20 exclusive in-room games via the Winnitt platform. This move follows the launch of live casino products in Finland through Veikkaus, further solidifying Playtech’s strategy to strengthen its position in regulated markets.
Chairman’s Reflections and CEO’s Acknowledgment
Mattingley stated, “It has been an absolute privilege to serve as Chair of Playtech and to help steward this important phase of growth and transition. I am proud of the milestones we have achieved and embark on a new chapter as a predominantly pure-play B2B business.”
Playtech CEO Mor Weizer added, “Brian has been an outstanding Chair, offering invaluable guidance and dedication to the team during a time of significant transformation at Playtech.”
