PokerStars and Sisal Bring Live Poker to Casinò di Campione
Flutter Entertainment’s brands, Sisal and PokerStars, have entered a partnership with Italy’s Casinò di Campione spa to run live poker events at the iconic casino. This follows a tender issued last autumn and includes the establishment of a permanent poker room as well as live tournaments.
New Poker Room and Live Events
Sisal and PokerStars will create an “always on” poker room at Casinò di Campione, located in the Italian province of Como near Lake Lugano. The collaboration will feature regular live poker tournaments aimed at enhancing the poker experience for players in Italy.
“We look forward to kicking off the partnership with Campione and offering the best poker experience to our passionate Italian audience,” said Cedric Billot, Director of Live Event Operations at PokerStars.
The deal represents a major milestone for the PokerStars brand in Italy. Billot highlighted the hard work leading up to the agreement: “We are extremely proud to be announcing this agreement, having worked hard to get here, but this is just the beginning of an important chapter for the PokerStars brand in Italy. We will work together with the local Sisal team to make this a successful partnership and offer an epic ‘experience’.”
Long-Term Partnership with Future Prospects
The partnership between Sisal, PokerStars, and Casinò di Campione will initially run for four years, with an option to extend for an additional three years. Further details will be announced once the poker room officially opens, with the first live events expected to be revealed in the coming months.
Mario Venditti, Chairman of Casinò di Campione spa – Società Benefit, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “With the poker tournaments, Casinò di Campione starts again with the competitive events that qualify its offer, enlivening the calendar of one of Europe’s most important gaming houses.”
“This is a further step forward in the development of the company’s activity, which will undoubtedly increase its visibility”, he added.
