Rank Group’s Partnership with Carers Trust Raises £4M to Support Unpaid Carers
Rank Group has announced that its long-term partnership with Carers Trust has raised £4 million ($5 million) to provide financial assistance and support services for unpaid carers across the UK. Since 2014, these funds have helped over 14,400 carers through direct aid, respite breaks, and skills development initiatives.

Over a Decade of Support for Carers
Through its partnership with Carers Trust, Rank Group has worked to ease the financial and emotional burden faced by unpaid carers—individuals looking after family members or friends with disabilities, illnesses, or addictions. The funds have been distributed via Carers Trust’s network of more than 130 local organizations, providing access to vital services.
A portion of the funding has gone toward grants for essential household appliances, a growing need as the cost of living continues to rise. Carers Trust has reported that many carers struggle to afford basic items such as fridges, washing machines, and cookers.
One recipient of such a grant, Evelyn from Leeds, shared her experience:
“I had to prioritise the cooker because I have to prepare food for my family. Without it, I just couldn’t look after my daughter. The grant was so important to me.”
Fundraising Efforts and Future Plans
The £4 million milestone has been made possible through fundraising initiatives involving Rank Group employees and customers, including sports challenges, payroll giving, and donation campaigns at Rank’s venues.
As the partnership enters its 12th year, Rank Group is planning to expand its support beyond financial contributions. The company is developing volunteering programmes aimed at helping carers re-enter the workforce through skills training and work placements.
Carers Trust CEO Kirsty McHugh highlighted the significance of the achievement:
“Raising £4m for Carers Trust is an incredible milestone and one that simply would not have been possible without the generosity of our colleagues and customers who have contributed over the past 11 years.”
Rank Group CEO John O’Reilly also underscored the company’s commitment to corporate responsibility:
“Supporting our community is central to Rank’s core value of responsibility, and with this in mind, we are now exploring how we can further build on our partnership with Carers Trust, including initiatives like skills-based training and work placements for carers who are looking to get back into work.”
This announcement follows Rank Group’s latest financial results, which revealed a 13% year-on-year increase in net gaming revenue, reaching £401.8 million for the first half of the 2024/25 financial year.
