Realm of Lions from Synot Games was honored as NonStopBonus’ game of the month for July 2024. Did it really deserve this title? We decided to check it out in our review.

Storyline

Realm of Lions from Synot Games takes players to the desert savannah, where majestic lions rule the natural world.

In the African savannah, players can encounter wild animals such as lions, zebras, antelopes and hippos. They are accompanied by classic card symbols that bring a touch of traditional aesthetics to the exotic setting.

The game’s theme is irresistibly reminiscent of the legendary animation The Lion King, which masterfully portrayed the richness of African wildlife. Synot Games studio has captured this atmosphere just as successfully.

Visual side

Slot impresses with its visuals, which are dominated by bright, vivid colors that perfectly capture the mood of African landscapes.

The animal symbols are carefully designed and reflect the diversity of African fauna. The classic card symbols, on the other hand, introduce a subtle contrast that gives the game elegance.

The game’s background is equally atmospheric – the view of lone acacia trees against the backdrop of the setting sun builds a peaceful yet mysterious mood.

Animations are smooth, and lighting effects add dynamism, especially when activating bonuses.

Mechanics and mathematics

Realm of Lions is based on a five-reel layout with 25 fixed win lines.

The game features a Wild (lion) symbol, which substitutes for all other symbols except Bonus and Bonus Collector. This significantly increases the chances of hitting winning combinations.

The Scatter symbol is equally important, as it pays out wins regardless of its position on the reels, and its value is added up with other wins from the line.

The most exciting feature is the Hold and Win feature, activated by the appearance of at least six Bonus symbols on the reels. The feature starts with three re-spins, which reset each time a new Bonus symbol appears on the screen.

The Bonus symbols themselves can offer values ranging from 1x to 18x the stake or special prizes such as Mini, Minor and Major Jackpots. The feature ends when the re-spin counter drops to zero or all 20 reel slots are filled with Bonus symbols.

For impatient players, there is an option to immediately purchase the Hold and Win feature for 100 times the selected stake. After its purchase, the feature activates automatically and the player receives a guaranteed number of at least six Bonus symbols.

The game also offers additional mechanics that add variety to the gameplay. The Bonus Collector symbol collects the values of all Bonus symbols on the screen and turns into one symbol with the total value of these prizes.

On the other hand, the Bonus Up symbol, appearing during the Hold and Win feature, removes the Bonus symbol with the lowest value from the board, while resetting the respin counter to three.

There is also a Gamble feature, which allows doubling each win up to a maximum of 250,000. The player’s task is to guess the color of a face-down card. A correct answer doubles the winnings, while an incorrect answer results in the loss of the winnings. The Gamble feature is optional, meaning that players can opt out of it and keep their existing winnings.
