Scientific Games to Power Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin with SYMPHONY System
Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin (DKLB) has chosen Scientific Games’ omnichannel SYMPHONY gaming system to enhance its lottery operations under a new seven-year contract. The agreement will see the advanced platform supporting both retail and digital sales, ensuring a seamless lottery experience for players across Berlin.

Advanced Technology for Enhanced Lottery Operations
Selected through a competitive tender process, the SYMPHONY system offers an open architecture that integrates retail, digital, and mobile channels. It also supports future entertainment options, including third-party content and platforms. Scientific Games, a long-standing technology provider for DKLB for over 20 years, will oversee the transition to the new system.
DKLB is set to become the first lottery operator in Germany to implement SYMPHONY’s multi-tenant platform. The integration of Scientific Games’ Player Account Management (PAM) system will facilitate a unified gaming experience across all sales channels. The system’s flexibility allows for easy incorporation of third-party components and applications, providing DKLB with a versatile solution for its operations.
A Step Towards Digital Transformation
The rollout of the SYMPHONY system is part of DKLB’s broader digital transformation strategy, with full implementation expected by 2027. Hansjörg Höltkemeier, CEO of Lotto-Berlin, emphasized the importance of this initiative in addressing operational safety and cybersecurity challenges while ensuring continuity and an improved customer experience.
“With our selection of Scientific Games and SYMPHONY, we are not only responding to the ever-increasing requirements in the areas of operational safety and cyber security but also focusing on continuity. Above all, we are investing in a new system architecture that will lead to an excellent, system-supported customer experience across all our sales channels,” said Höltkemeier.
Supporting a Range of Lottery Products
The upgraded system will enable DKLB to operate a modular, modern infrastructure that supports a variety of lottery products. These include scratchcards, iLottery games, and popular draw-based offerings such as EUROJACKPOT, LOTTO, and KENO.
“Scientific Games is proud to be the primary technology partner for Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin. Together, we’re deploying our SYMPHONY lottery gaming system, which includes the versatile SYMPHONY multi-tenant platform and omnichannel player account management system that will serve several German lotteries. This enhanced lottery system ensures best-of-breed system integration throughout the life of our agreement”, stated Matthias Müller, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for International Lottery Systems at Scientific Games.
