Serie A Opens Bidding for 2025–2029 Betting and Data Rights

Lega Serie A has officially launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for its betting and data rights across all major competitions from 2025 to 2029. The move comes as Italy prepares for a major shake-up in its sports betting market.

Serie A is putting key rights up for grabs across eight commercial packages for the 2025/26 to 2028/29 seasons, with a focus on both domestic and international betting markets. The rights include live streaming, match and coach data, and media tracking across the Serie A Championship, Coppa Italia Frecciarossa, and EA Sports Supercup.

Eight Packages to Attract Betting and Data Partners

Among the most valuable offerings is Package A, which combines international streaming, live match data, and coach analytics for use in betting markets outside of Italy. Domestic betting data is covered under Package B, while Package C targets media data rights.

Other packages include sports betting tracking data (D), media tracking data (E), and various combinations thereof (F), tailored for different commercial applications. Interested parties are instructed to submit bids by email.

The call for proposals comes at a moment of high engagement with Italian football. Domestically, between three and six million viewers tune in each weekend, mainly through DAZN. Serie A has also seen growing international attention—particularly in the US, where viewership rose by 50% over the past season.

ADM Closes Licensing Window

The tender coincides with a significant shift in Italy’s sports betting sector. The ADM (Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli) recently closed the application window for new sports betting licences. With the licence fee raised sharply to €7 million, the next phase of licensing is expected to favour large operators and consolidate the market.

Roughly 50 operators are believed to have applied, with only around 30 licences expected to be granted—down from 81 in the last round in 2018. The winners are due to be announced later this summer.
