Starcasino Joins IBIA To Strengthen Betting Integrity In The Netherlands
Starcasino has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) following the launch of its sportsbook in the Netherlands. This move supports its goal of helping to detect and prevent match-fixing in regulated markets.

New Partnership With IBIA
As part of its expansion into the Dutch market through Altenar’s sportsbook platform, Starcasino has become a member of the IBIA. Altenar is already part of the association, and now both companies will work together to support fair play in sports betting.
Starcasino also operates in Belgium and Spain. By joining the IBIA, it becomes part of a global network that includes over 80 companies and 140 betting brands. In the Netherlands, the association now covers around 90% of all licensed sportsbooks.
Statement From Starcasino
Kylian Olierook, Director of Starcasino Netherlands, explained why the company decided to join.
“Starcasino.nl has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) as part of our ongoing effort to support fair and honest sports betting. Together with our sportsbook partner Altenar, we want to help protect sports from manipulation and ensure a safe experience for our players. By working with IBIA, we take an active role in monitoring and reporting suspicious betting activity.”
A Growing Monitoring Network
Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, welcomed the partnership and highlighted its impact on the association’s work.
“We are delighted to welcome Starcasino to our association. Their addition strengthens our global monitoring network and reinforces our shared commitment to safeguarding the integrity of sports and regulated betting markets. Membership of IBIA highlights Starcasino’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency in the regulated sports betting industry. We look forward to working closely with Starcasino to protect the integrity of its products and markets.”
The IBIA was created by operators to protect legal betting markets. As a non-profit organisation, it focuses only on integrity and has no conflicts of interest with commercial services.
Impact Of IBIA’s Work
The IBIA monitoring system tracks betting transactions linked to individual customer accounts. Only the association and its members can access this data, making the system a secure and effective tool for detecting suspicious activity.
In the first quarter of 2025, the IBIA flagged 63 suspicious betting cases. These reports helped authorities investigate and later sanction 17 clubs, players, and officials in 2024.
Through partnerships like this, the association continues to strengthen its ability to fight betting-related corruption.
