Stella David named permanent CEO at Entain
Entain has confirmed that Stella David will take over as the group’s permanent Chief Executive Officer, ending her interim term with immediate effect. The appointment marks a key step in the company’s ongoing leadership transition and strategic direction.
Leadership continuity secured at Entain
FTSE-listed Entain plc has formally named Stella David as its new CEO. Previously acting in an interim capacity, David will now lead the global betting and gaming group on a permanent basis. Her appointment follows several months of internal review and aligns with the company’s broader push for stability and operational clarity.
Pierre Bouchut, Interim Chair of Entain, emphasised David’s track record in cross-sector leadership and her direct role in the current phase of strategic execution.

Focus on execution and operational delivery
David’s elevation to the CEO role comes at a critical point for Entain, which has recently intensified efforts to streamline its operations and address investor concerns. In her remarks, Stella David, CEO of Entain, outlined her priorities going forward.
“Entain has a clear strategy and we are making great strides in strengthening our operational capabilities. Having taken the time to reflect, I am hugely excited to be leading the business going forward as Entain’s CEO as we accelerate our journey of improvement. Entain is a great business with significant potential and I am confident in its ability to deliver further success in the future.”
The appointment concludes a complex leadership chapter at Entain. In December 2023, Jette Nygaard-Andersen resigned as CEO. Stella David was subsequently named interim CEO. In July 2024, Gavin Isaacs took over the role but stepped down just five months later. David then returned as interim CEO before now being formally confirmed as the group’s permanent chief executive.
