TOP 100 Most Influential People in iGaming

Who shaped the iGaming industry in 2024? From today (May 20) to Friday (May 23), we’re publishing a curated list of the 100 Most Influential People in iGaming, whose decisions, leadership, or public roles had a direct impact on the global market.

As a media outlet focused on the iGaming sector, we believe that the path to success matters as much as the result. Ethical leadership, long-term thinking, and accountability should carry more weight than short-term gains. These values guided the selection process for this year’s ranking.

Over the coming days, we will highlight the individuals who played a key role in shaping the global iGaming landscape throughout 2024. The list includes founders, executives, investors, regulators, and industry voices whose actions had measurable impact. Alongside each entry, we provide context – the decisions, strategies, and leadership approaches that made a difference.

This ranking is the result of weeks of editorial work, independent industry consultations, and an analysis of real market impact. We focused on outcomes, the reach of decisions, the level of innovation, and visibility in public discourse. This is not a popularity contest, but a reflection of actual influence.

We are aware that the ranking may spark emotions and differing opinions, and we see that as a positive. Honest, open debate is essential in any forward-looking industry.

Stake has faced scrutiny in the UK, and Canada, while Kick has been accused of normalizing gambling via influencer marketing. Their business duel with FanDuel is as thrilling as the best Formula 1 race. Often, it’s the smallest details that decide who crosses the finish line first.

3. Mor Weizer

As CEO of Playtech since 2007, Mor Weizer is one of the longest-serving executives in the iGaming sector. During his tenure, the company expanded into the U.S. with licenses in 11 states and opened Live Casino studios in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. And it is precisely the United States that will be the key market for Playtech’s growth in the near future. You can see and feel that very clearly.

Playtech is the benchmark for building a large B2B business in iGaming. Built on long-term, valuable partnerships and a very strong position in local markets, Playtech’s strategy is founded on solid ground.

Mor Weizer is someone who can excel in any situation—whether it’s presenting quarterly corporate results or answering a tough question, or stepping out to employees and speaking with them on a genuine, human level, fully understanding their needs and the challenges they face.

2. Denise Coates

A visionary who turned a family-run business into one of the most dominant forces in global betting. Coates launched bet365’s online platform in 2001 and, by 2005, had sold off the company’s network of retail betting points to focus entirely on digital operations. Under her leadership, bet365 was among the first operators to implement in-play betting and 24/7 customer support. While much of the industry pursued mergers or public listings, Coates maintained full private ownership, allowing for long-term strategic control without external shareholder pressure.

In 2025, bet365 announced its exit from the Chinese market as part of a shift toward fully regulated jurisdictions. The move came amid reports that the Coates family is exploring a potential £9 billion sale. Alongside her executive role, Coates oversees the Denise Coates Foundation, which donated £120 million to charitable causes in the past year.

1. Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson takes the top spot in this year’s ranking, moving up from fourth place in 2024 after a year of high-impact decisions and continued international expansion. As CEO of Flutter Entertainment since 2018, he has overseen the group’s transformation into the world’s most geographically diversified gambling operator.

FanDuel has become the clear leader in the U.S. market and now accounts for the largest share of Flutter’s group revenue. In 2024, Jackson led the company’s primary listing shift to the New York Stock Exchange.

Outside the U.S., he completed the €2.3 billion acquisition of Snaitech in Italy and secured a 56% stake in Brazil’s NSX Group, owner of Betnacional. He has also maintained a decentralised operating model, allowing major brands like FanDuel, Paddy Power, and Sisal to retain local autonomy within a broader group structure. The scale and consistency of these decisions put him at the top of this year’s list of game changers.

Peter Jackson is definitely someone who explains every decision rationally and isn’t afraid to admit mistakes, which makes him highly credible. Listening to his remarks and insights on the industry is truly inspiring.
