Two Dominican Players Suspended Amid Ongoing Tennis Integrity Investigation

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has provisionally suspended Dominican Republic players Jossting Cruz and Jasel Beltre pending a full investigation into potential breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP). The suspensions took effect on 30 May 2025 and will remain in place while the charges are under review.

Provisional Bans Under Integrity Rules

Cruz, 19, who achieved a career-high ITF singles ranking of 2318 in May this year, and Beltre, 24, currently unranked, have been suspended under section F.3.b.i.4 of the TACP. This provision allows for a provisional suspension if there is reason to believe a major offense has occurred and if failure to act immediately would risk compromising the integrity of the sport.

Neither player has contested the decision or submitted an appeal.

While under provisional suspension, Cruz and Beltre are barred from participating in any capacity—playing, coaching, or attending—at events sanctioned by ITIA’s member bodies. This includes all tournaments and activities organised or endorsed by the ATP, WTA, ITF, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon, and the USTA.

Integrity Agency Continues Review

The ITIA, an independent body tasked with upholding integrity in professional tennis, has not disclosed the specific nature of the suspected violations. The decision to impose a provisional suspension suggests the agency sees a serious risk to the sport’s integrity should the players remain active during the investigative process.

The case remains under consideration, with further details expected once the ITIA completes its full review.
