U.S. Soccer and Sportradar Forge Global Partnership
In a move aimed at widening the reach of its data and content, U.S. Soccer has revealed a long-term, worldwide collaboration with Sportradar. This strategic partnership intends to bring the federation’s data and content to a global audience, reinforcing its presence on a broader scale.
Under the terms of the comprehensive agreement, both domestically and on an international level, Sportradar will hold exclusive rights to gather, license, and disseminate the federation’s official betting and media data.
Furthermore, Sportradar has secured exclusive distribution rights for live audiovisual (AV) streaming of U.S. Soccer events for betting purposes, accessible beyond the U.S. This affiliation will enable U.S. Soccer to monetize its data and content via Sportradar’s expansive network, which encompasses over 900 regulated betting operators and 350 media clients across the globe.
Pivotal agreement
U.S. Soccer and Sportradar will collaborate closely to develop customized, data-driven solutions designed to deepen existing fan connections, engage the upcoming generation of National Team supporters, and generate more opportunities for revenue, driving further expansion.
This pivotal agreement encompasses more than 111 matches annually across U.S. Men’s (USMNT) and Women’s (USWNT) National Team competitions, encompassing events such as the SheBelieves Cup and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Coinciding with this announcement is a crucial juncture for soccer in the United States, as the nation is set to host a range of significant global soccer tournaments, including the 2024 Copa America, the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup, the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Notably, U.S. Soccer has also joined forces with the Mexican Football Federation to jointly bid for hosting rights for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Shared commitment
Sportradar’s Integrity Services will also be integral to the partnership, encompassing bet monitoring through its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), Intelligence & Investigation (I&I) Services, Integrity Audit, and Education & Prevention, including anti-match fixing workshops.
Eric Conrad, Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Content at Sportradar, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The profile of soccer globally across both the men’s and women’s game is the highest it’s ever been. At this important moment for the sport, this partnership reflects the shared commitment we have with U.S. Soccer to bring the sport to a larger audience both domestically and on an international level.”
Ross Moses, Vice President, Business Ventures of U.S. Soccer, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the significance of the partnership for U.S. Soccer’s growth trajectory. “It’s well recognized that the next four years are an unprecedented opportunity for American soccer, and partnering with an industry leader like Sportradar sets an amazing foundation for U.S. Soccer to protect the integrity of the sport while engaging a competitive and fast-evolving marketplace.”
