VERSUSbet Signs Two-Year Partnership with Real Madrid
Real Madrid has announced a two year partnership with Spanish gaming company VERSUSbet, a brand of Grupo Orenes. The deal covers all of Europe except Spain, a major move for VERSUSbet’s international expansion.
Strategic Alliance for European Market
The Real Madrid and VERSUSbet partnership shows the increasing power of sports betting sponsorships in Europe. Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations and Javier López Cerrón, CEO of Grupo Orenes presented the agreement, calling it a key part of VERSUSbet’s international strategy.
Speaking about the partnership, Javier López Cerrón said, “For us, this is a very significant milestone. At VERSUSbet we always want to be close to the best, and Real Madrid is one of the most important clubs in the history of international sport, an institution with whom we want to share great successes.”
He called the agreement “a cornerstone for our international expansion”, and said they want to use Real Madrid’s global brand to grow in Europe.
International Scope
The sponsorship deal covers Europe but not Spain where local gambling sponsorships regulations may apply. But by focusing on broader European markets VERSUSbet can reach further and be associated with a football giant with a global fanbase.
Real Madrid is expanding its corporate network with Hisense being the latest brand to partner with the club for three years. Hisense will be a regional sponsor in Spain, Africa and the Middle East and is part of Real Madrid’s commercial portfolio.
These partnerships are part of the club’s strategy to remain one of the most marketable sports teams in the world.
