Where To Watch The NHL?

The NHL has expanded its global broadcast strategy for the 2025/2026 season. Fans can watch every game on regional TV or through licensed streaming providers around the world. Options depend on where you live, with premium access to regular-season matchups, the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and out-of-market coverage.

North America remains the core market

In the United States, ESPN and ABC hold the primary national rights. They will show about 100 exclusive games, including season openers and marquee broadcasts. ESPN+ remains the central streaming hub. It also carries out-of-market games through NHL Power Play. TNT continues as a major broadcast partner and will air selected playoff rounds. Many games on TNT are available through Max with the B/R Sports add-on. Hulu + Live TV offers a bundled option with ESPN, ABC and TNT included.

Canada retains a split structure between Sportsnet and TSN. Sportsnet+ streams Hockey Night in Canada and the majority of national content. TSN and RDS hold regional rights for several teams. Broadcast availability depends on home territory, especially in markets like Montréal, Toronto and Winnipeg.

Europe expands its streaming accessibility

Europe continues to be a growth territory for NHL media rights. Viaplay remains a key streaming partner in many countries. In the UK and Ireland, coverage is consolidated on Sky Sports with linear TV and digital access. Germany, Sweden, Finland and other hockey-focused markets have strong late-night and replay schedules to offset time-zone differences.

DAZN now carries NHL.TV content in a significant number of European regions. Fans can watch every game live or on demand, including post-season coverage. The service supports multilingual commentary where available.

Global footprint reaches new regions

Australia and New Zealand access the NHL through DAZN and select pay-TV partners. The full season is covered, though many viewers rely on replays due to time-zone challenges.

In Latin America, DAZN offers complete streaming coverage. This brings all regular-season and playoff matchups to a rapidly developing hockey audience. Central and South America continue to see steady viewership increases.

The Middle East and Africa remain fragmented markets. Availability depends heavily on local broadcast deals. DAZN operates in some countries, but not all. Fans often rely on VPN services when traveling or located in areas without rights coverage.

What viewers should consider this season

Blackout rules still apply in North America. Fans must check local home-market restrictions before subscribing. Bundled sports packages can reduce costs for multi-league viewers. High-performance streaming devices are recommended for 4K broadcasts. Many platforms now support catch-up features for late-night games.

The NHL’s strategy for 2025/2026 focuses on accessibility and flexibility. Fans can choose between streaming-only subscriptions or hybrid packages that include both linear TV and digital access. For international viewers, DAZN continues to deliver the most consistent coverage across borders.
