Christian Reinhard Joins Merkur Group’s Management Board for Technology and Development

Merkur Group has announced the appointment of Christian Reinhard as the new Management Board member responsible for Technology and Development.

Transition and Continuity at Merkur Group

Paul Gauselmann, founder and Chairman of the Management Board, expressed gratitude towards Werner Kurt Schroer for his contributions and welcomed Christian Reinhard to the team.

Gauselmann stated: “Mr Reinhard’s appointment as Board member responsible for Technology and Development ensures continuity in the area of development that is so important for the corporate group while also creating scope for fresh ideas. We wish Mr Reinhard every success in his new role as well as the necessary element of luck.”

Extensive Experience in Technology and Leadership

Christian Reinhard brings over 20 years of experience in automotive electronics development to his new role. His background includes work on navigation systems, driver assistance technologies, and connected-car systems, many of which are now in use globally.

His extensive knowledge of safety-critical systems, which face similar regulatory requirements to those in the gaming industry, makes him well-equipped to take on the challenges at Merkur Group.

In addition to his technical expertise, Reinhard has over 15 years of experience in managing international teams. Most recently, he led a group of 3,500 developers, overseeing the design and development of complex systems.

This experience will serve him well in his new position, where the coordination of diverse, global teams is essential.

A New Challenge in the Gaming Industry

Christian Reinhard, who holds a degree in computer science from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, expressed enthusiasm about his move to Merkur Group: “Having devoted my 23 years of professional life to the development of high-quality mobility experiences, I am looking forward to a new challenge in a dynamic and creative environment.

“I find the gaming industry particularly fascinating because of the collaboration between a wide variety of disciplines – art, design, mathematics, programming, data security and electronics development – and the opportunity to create unforgettable moments of entertainment and enjoyment of gaming.”
