AGCO Appoints Dave Forestell as Chair of Board of Directors

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) announced the appointment of Dave Forestell as the new Chair of its Board of Directors.

Strong advocate

Dave Forestell has been a sitting member of the AGCO Board since December 2018 and has been a strong advocate for the agency’s role in regulating the sectors it oversees.

During his four and a half years on the AGCO Board, Mr. Forestell also served as Chair of the Board of iGaming Ontario, a subsidiary of AGCO, since its establishment in July 2021. As he takes on the leadership of AGCO’s Board of Directors, the process is underway to appoint a new Chair for iGaming Ontario.

Wealth of experience

Mr. Forestell currently serves as the Vice President, External Relations (Canada) for TC Energy. He has held various executive positions in the private sector, including Vice President, International Corporate and Commercial Banking, and Vice President, Office of the President and CEO at Scotiabank. Additionally, he has significant experience in the government and has worked overseas in Chile and Venezuela, where he led corporate affairs and corporate social responsibility for mining projects.

Furthermore, Mr. Forestell is fluent in Spanish and has served as Chair of a Joint Venture Board of Directors during his time in Chile. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors for the Ontario College of Art and Design University. Mr. Forestell holds a B.A. and LLB from Western University.

With his wealth of experience and expertise, Mr. Forestell’s appointment as Chair is expected to further strengthen AGCO’s position in its regulatory role and advance its mission in the sectors it governs.
