Allwyn reports strong first quarter results with consolidated revenue of €1.64bn

Allwyn, the leading lottery operator, has released its preliminary unaudited results for the first quarter that ended on 31st March, showing a remarkable year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue of 80.1% to €1.64bn.

Significant revenue increase

Excluding the acquisitions, Allwyn’s consolidated total revenue reached €1.06bn, representing a substantial 17% year-on-year increase. Including the acquisitions, the gross gaming revenue (GGR) reached €1.58bn, an impressive growth of 81.4%. The net revenue for the quarter amounted to €811.2m, reflecting a rise of 40%.

Allwyn’s adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the first quarter reached €346.7m, marking a significant increase of 28.4% compared to the same period in 2022.

While Allwyn witnessed growth in several operating locations, including Austria with total revenue of €388.4m, a 19.3% yearly increase, the UK experienced a slight decline of 1.9% in total revenues, amounting to €1.01bn. Similarly, Italy saw a marginal decrease of 0.6% in total revenue, reaching €584m.

Robert Chvatal, the CEO of Allwyn, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s performance during this period: “We are pleased to announce that Allwyn had a successful start to the year, with the first-quarter results showcasing our commitment to organic growth and our progress in implementing our inorganic growth strategy. We have made significant strides in seven different lottery markets, contributing to our robust revenue growth.”

Allwyn is solidifying its position

In March 2022, Allwyn was awarded the prestigious fourth UK National Lottery license, solidifying its position in the lottery industry. The rise in consolidated revenue can be attributed to recent acquisitions, including Camelot UK Lotteries, the current operator of the UK National Lottery, and Camelot Lottery Solutions, which operates the Illinois Lottery in the United States.

Chvatal further commented on these acquisitions, stating, “The completion of these landmark acquisitions in the first quarter demonstrates our successful execution of the inorganic growth strategy. Acquiring Camelot UK, the current operator of the UK National Lottery, ensures the continued success of the National Lottery in the coming years. Additionally, the acquisition of Camelot LS Group allows us to enter the US market and provides strategic opportunities through its innovative ilottery technology.”

Overall, Allwyn’s first-quarter results demonstrate their strong performance, driven by strategic acquisitions and their commitment to organic growth. As the company continues to expand its presence in various markets, it remains focused on delivering innovative and exciting lottery experiences to players worldwide.
